Luke and YOBISing Networking
Monday, June 28th, 2010The story in the Catonsville Times about Luke Roberts, winner of our Season 2 YOBISing singing contest, contains a golden nugget of networking information.
With his friends’ help, Roberts sent e-mails to family, friends and community listserves, hung banners and passed out fliers at school and even made T-shirts for people to wear asking for votes.
The tactics worked. He advanced to the semi-finals, then the finals, in which contestants with the lowest votes were eliminated over the course of seven weeks until only Roberts remained as the winner.

Luke collected $18,000 cash along with a trip for two to Los Angeles, a pair of VIP tickets to the 2011 Grammy Awards, and a pair of VIP celebrity Grammy after-party passes for his YOBISing win.
Congrats again Luke!
